Inspired by the daily tableware used in Japan, these light blue-green Japanese cups are skilfully hand-glazed by Japanese craftsmen to ensure each one is unique. Not only will they look lovely on shelves and tables, but the hand-glazed finish makes the cups more tactile for your hands to grasp, making them perfect for everyday tea and coffee.
The cup’s glazed light blue/green colour is known as “Aoi” in Japanese. Although green now has a modern word (Midori), “Aoi" was used to describe green and blue collectively in ancient Japanese and is still used in some contexts today.
